Join the American community in Ho Chi Minh City in celebrating 4th of July at AmCham’s Independence Day Celebration & Community Picnic! This year’s celebration will commemorate 248 years of American Independence, as well as AmCham’s 29th anniversary hosting this event.
This is one of AmCham’s most emblematic events of the year, packed with entertainment for all ages:
- Presentation of colors by the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard and U.S. national anthem
- Free-flow of assorted refreshments, beer and wine from 11:30am to 5pm
- Live performances by No Jive Jazz Band and Zunkbomb (rock, pop, blues, folk)
- Wide-ranging selection of All-You-Can-Eat American and international food options including favorites such as BBQ ribs, hot dogs, and hamburgers from 12pm to 3:30pm
- Over 160 prizes including a round-trip airfares and vouchers to the U.S., luxury resort stays, restaurant vouchers and many more, at our multiple raffles!
- Children’s activities from 11:30am to 3:30pm, including face painting, sandbag toss, bouncy castle and more!

Did you know that the American Declaration of Independence served as an inspiration for Vietnam’s own Declaration of Independence? On National Foundation Day, September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh echoed the timeless words of the Declaration of Independence, emphasizing the principles of equality, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. His poignant opening words resonated with the spirit of freedom and self-determination:
“‘All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.’ This immortal statement was made in the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America in 1776. In a broader sense, this means: All the nations on the earth are equal from birth, all the nations have the right to live, to be happy and free.”
