Giang Vu
Government and Public Affairs, Director, Nike Vietnam
Giang Vu is NIKE’s Director for Government and Public Affairs, leading the government engagement and community impact program for NIKE in Viet Nam, Cambodia and Thailand. She co-chairs Amcham Vietnam’s Manufacturing Committee and is an active member at various committees in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. Prior to NIKE, she led communications for CARE International in Vietnam, a non-profit organization with a primary focus on women’s empowerment, and covered Vietnam’s foreign affairs for Tuoi Tre newspaper, one of the leading papers in the country.
Giang holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Diplomacy Academy of Vietnam and a master’s degree in public administration from the School of Public Policy at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.
Statement of Interest/Vision
Giang is the co-chair of Amcham’s Manufacturing Committee, where she collaborates closely with Amcham leadership and the leadership of the Committee to ensure that critical policy updates are provided, and advocacy priorities aligned and executed. In this role, she has expanded the work of the Manufacturing Committee in partnership with the ESG and HR Committees to provide cross-cutting services to their members.
The Board of Amcham Vietnam HCMC & Danang is at its best when each of the Board’s members shares the same vision of protecting and growing the collective interests of the American business community in Vietnam. This is exemplified in the Board’s agility in identifying and taking proactive actions in the interest of members and its creditability in promoting US-Vietnam trade and investment relations. Therefore, she plans to leverage her experience in working with Vietnamese, US and other stakeholders in support of those objectives.
